What Is Candida?
Do you know what Candida is and what type of effect it can have on your body? Candida is actually a type of yeast that is found in our bodies that is produced naturally. A little bit of Candida is normal for you and is actually considered healthy for your body. The condition that occurs when there is an overproduction of the Candida yeast within the body is called Candidiasis.
Candida yeast occurs naturally within the body at very low levels and is normal for you and you do not need to be concerned about it. We have normal levels of Candida inside all of our bodies and it can be found in our mouths and throat, our digestive tracts and in women it is common to be found in the vagina.
However, when the body is weakened it is more vulnerable to attack. For example, when you have a cold or a medical condition that weakens your immune system it can lower your resistance to other conditions. The body is always working to attack against viruses, bacteria and other conditions that can make us sick.
Overproduction of Candida tends to happen when our bodies are in a weakened state. The most obvious problem caused by the overproduction of Candida is yeast infections. More than 3/4 of all women will experience a vaginal yeast infection at least one time in their lives. Another common infection that occurs with the overproduction of Candida is one that is called thrush. This however, happens to both affect men and women.
While these common infections are bothersome, they usually stay a short time as they can easily be treated with medications. Do not confuse these symptoms with chronic Candidiasis. The chronic overproduction of Candida will cause you to experience symptoms such as chronic fatigue, skin infections, acute abdominal pain and cognitive issues.
The chronic overproduction of Candida changes forms as it flourishes within the body. It can multiply quickly and it can turn itself into a highly dangerous fungal state as it takes over the body. Serious problems will occur in the infected person. If it is not treated quickly it can turn produce problems such as The Leaky Gut Syndrome.
If you have a chronic problem with Candida you will find that it will produce many different problems within your body. Over the last few decades it has been associated with many more conditions than was once believed. You must do a few things to keep your Candida at normal levels and to avoid having chronic issues from candidiasis. Your everyday diet is a huge factor in it as a preventative medicine. You need to educate yourself on Candida and you need to understand how it reacts with your body so you can avoid candida infections in order to stay healthy.
